Nobody wants a life story

So here’s me in 250 words.

At school I wanted to be a radiographer. At college I wanted to be a plumber. So naturally I went to ad school and became a copywriter.

You’d be forgiven for thinking it got simple from there. I’ve spent the years since meandering through ad land with some rather unusual detours along the way.

In between working at the likes of Y&R in Sydney, TMW in London and TVNZ in Auckland, I’ve cycled around the world, worked on an Abrolhos Island pearl farm, and taught English in South Korea.

My work has been just as varied as my adventures, from traditional ad agencies to a national broadcaster and a media partnership studio. I’m just as comfortable answering a big brand brief as I am taking a sponsorship ident from script to screen.

But wherever I am, it always comes down to fresh concepts and fab copy.

Over the years, I’ve set an ad break on fire for Fire Emergency NZ, to show the fatal speed a house fire can kill. I’ve fed rugby rivals to great whites to launch Cronulla Sharks’ NRL season. And I’ve been on agency copy teams dedicated to crafting comms for brands like Virgin Trains (RIP), first direct and Diageo brands.

After more than a decade employed, I went freelance in 2023.

And here we are today. With you reading about me presumably wondering if I can help your brand. So if you are still wondering, let’s chat and see if I can.

Above all Jennie is a lovely and interesting person who is a pleasure to be around every time she is in the agency.”
